Description
Corned Beef Sliders are a savory and indulgent bite-sized treat, perfect for any gathering, party, or casual meal. These sliders feature tender, thinly sliced corned beef, melty Swiss cheese, and a flavorful sauce all sandwiched between soft, slightly sweet slider buns
Ingredients
12 slider buns (dinner rolls or Hawaiian rolls work wonderfully)
1 lb of corned beef (preferably deli-style, thinly sliced)
6 oz Swiss cheese (or your favorite cheese)
4 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp prepared horseradish (optional for a little heat)
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp poppy seeds (optional but adds texture)
1 small onion (finely chopped)
For the Sauces:
2 tbsp Thousand Island dressing (or Russian dressing, for a classic twist)
1 tbsp mayonnaise (for extra creaminess)
Instructions
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter to prevent the sliders from sticking.
Prepare the Slider Buns:
Slice the slider buns in half horizontally, keeping the tops and bottoms intact. Place the bottom halves of the buns in the greased baking dish.
Layer the Corned Beef:
Evenly distribute the thinly sliced corned beef over the bottom half of the buns. Make sure to spread the corned beef evenly to cover the entire surface.
Add the Cheese:
Layer the Swiss cheese slices on top of the corned beef. You can use as much or as little cheese as you prefer, but a generous layer will melt beautifully over the beef.
Prepare the Sauce Mixture:
In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and horseradish (if using). Stir until the ingredients are well combined.
Pour the Sauce Over the Sliders:
Evenly pour the sauce mixture over the assembled buns, corned beef, and cheese. Make sure all the buns are coated with the sauce, as it will help keep the buns soft and flavorful while baking.
Add Toppings:
Sprinkle the finely chopped onions and poppy seeds (optional) on top of the sliders. This adds flavor and texture to the dish.
Top with the Bun Halves:
Place the top halves of the slider buns over the corned beef, cheese, and sauce, pressing them gently to hold everything in place.
Cover and Bake:
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. This will allow the buns to soften and the flavors to meld together.
Finish Baking:
After 15 minutes, remove the foil and continue baking for another 5–10 minutes, or until the buns are golden brown and crispy on top.
Serve:
Once baked, remove the sliders from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes. Slice into individual sliders and serve warm.
Notes
Use Fresh Corned Beef: For the best results, opt for fresh deli-style corned beef. If you’re using leftover corned beef, make sure it’s sliced thinly for a tender texture when baked.
Cheese Options: Swiss cheese is the traditional choice for corned beef sliders, but you can experiment with other cheeses like cheddar, provolone, or gouda for a unique twist on the flavor.
Customize the Sauce: The sauce mixture adds a lot of flavor, but feel free to adjust it to your taste. If you like it sweeter, add more brown sugar. For an extra tangy kick, increase the Dijon mustard or horseradish.
Make Ahead: You can prepare the sliders ahead of time by assembling everything and covering it with foil. Refrigerate overnight, and then bake it just before serving. This saves time on the day of your event!
Sliders Can Be Frozen: If you have leftovers or want to make them ahead, you can freeze the assembled, unbaked sliders. Wrap them tightly in plastic wrap and foil, then bake directly from frozen at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes.
Bread Variations: While soft dinner rolls or Hawaiian rolls are perfect for sliders, you can also use other types of small buns like brioche or pretzel buns for a slightly different flavor and texture.
Add Veggies: For a more complete meal, consider adding vegetables like sautéed mushrooms, peppers, or even a small layer of sauerkraut for a Reuben-inspired slider.
Serving Tip: For a fun twist, serve sliders with dipping sauces like Thousand Island or spicy mustard on the side
